Ice damming in gutters and on the edge of the roof can cause interior damage to your home. When gutters are frozen, the melted snow runs down the roof until it hits the ice "dam." The puddled water will now begin to freeze or find a way to leak into your home. Water always travels until it finds a place to stop. Ice damming is caused by lack of attic insulation, clogged gutters and downspouts, or even a lack of soffit ventilation.
